CHARACTER INFORMATION AND TRACKING | |||||||
A totally optional feature of Dex, this post is where you can put your character's information and backstory, their team rosters and boxed pokémon, and any updates about where they are and what's happened to them. All for funsies and your own convenience! If you want to do just the basic profile, a template has been provided below. Two codes have also been provided for pokémon - one that matches the profile code (intended for your team roster, but can be used however), and one that's a simple table - both of which allow you to give as much or as little information as you see fit. All information can be as detailed as you like, or even bullet lists. If players want special code for progress updates/thread tracking/etc, whatever you're using the post for, it'll be made. Rising Star of the Paranormal World, Reigen Arataka!
Age: 28
Home Region: Johto
Trainer Class: Rising Star
History: Reigen grew up in Goldenrod City with his pet Growlithe, saving up his money for a future expedition. He was always actually quite good at talking people into trades that probably weren't really in their favor, or finding trades that were ideal for him to take advantage of as soon as possible - this allowed him to get really strong Pokémon, or to get people to raise his Pokémon on his behalf. He spent a lot of his time exploring, and worked for a brief time with Professor Elm. However, he lost interest in Johto and how difficult it was to make money there, instead using his savings to travel to Alola and give business over there a shot. He was living in Po Town for a while thanks to its cheap rent, but when the electricity and water got shut off, he finally moved shop to Konikoni City, where he has a business set up titled "Spirits and Such Consultation", which is advertised as an exorcism and curse-removal service shop. His customers at least seem extremely pleased with his service, even if he's only open Monday through Thursday.

Nickname: Meow
Nature: Sassy
Characteristic: Takes plenty of siestas
Ability: Pickup
Gender: Male
Reigen's encounter with Alola when he first moved there to try and set up a better business was a bit hectic. He didn't have a lot of Pokémon, nor were they particularly strong. So when he ran into a wild meowth by accident and failed to run off thanks to the sheer number of meowth that were getting called in to help by that wild Pokémon, Reigen eventually lost his cool, sprayed a bunch of repel at the wild meowths, and threw a PokéBall at a few of them. As Reigen's ridiculous luck would have it, he did happen to catch a Meowth! One of the sassier and strangely-colored ones, in fact. Meow (named out of the frustration he still had from that encounter) is a mischievous companion who often wanders away from Reigen and returns with goodies. It will often demand attention from everyone, needy and vocal about it.

Characteristic: Impetuous and silly
Ability: Flash Fire
Gender: Male
The first Pokémon that Reigen had, Tiger is actually from Johto and is one of the stronger Pokémon on Reigen's team, since it has a habit of getting him out of trouble (since he so easily wanders into it). Reigen's love for dog Pokémon makes him a bit prone to spoiling Tiger more than his other Pokémon. Tiger is very competitive against other dog Pokémon, however, jealously hoarding his master's attention.

Characteristic: Good perseverance
Ability: Scrappy
Gender: Female
Kangaskhan is actually a Pokémon that Reigen made a deal to trade for. His usual Pokémon meant for handling ghosts and ghost-types still weren't quite at a decent level yet. So he shopped around, found a breeder, and worked out a deal - he got himself a kangaskhan that had the sort of rough-and-tumble attitude to handle ghosts! "Ma", as the breeder named her, is also quite an agreeable Kangaskhan... the breeder decided that a more docile one would be less likely to react poorly to Reigen's extremely high-energy antics. Reigen definitely prefers to have her out and about when he's dealing with children, since Ma's natural instincts do actually extend to young humans.

Ability: Overgrow
Gender: Female
When Reigen was younger, he worked with a professor for a time in Johto. He explored a lot, and raised his Chikorita well, but when he offered to return it to Professor Elm after the trial period the professor insisted that Reigen keep her. He kept updates and logs for Elm for a while, but eventually updates were no longer necessary, which allowed Reigen to leave for Alola more freely. Chika, once a good battler, has now settled into more of a support role. Most importantly, Reigen uses her unique abilities to help him treat people who are supposedly cursed or possessed - her aromatics and healing abilities work perfectly on customers that need a simple massage to feel like the shadow clinging to their shoulder is gone.

Ability: Super Luck
Gender: Male
Yet another example of Reigen's bizarre luck, an attempt by Reigen to navigate the Poni Gauntlet led to his encounter with Eggy. More specifically, he was significantly underleveled for what he was encountering, and after several desperate attempts to escape wild Raticate and Bewears a wild Togekiss interfered, appearing to defend Reigen on his way to escape. He ran off, and managed to catch the wild Pokémon floating off - he stopped it, spraying it with a Potion to repay it (and possibly make it more inclined to help him if he got in trouble again). Impressed with the act of kindness, Togekiss followed him until Reigen finally put him in a Pokéball and named him Eggy.

Nature: Rash
Characteristic: Mischievous
Ability: Illusion
Gender: Male
Todd belonged to a previous owner, and in fact had been the product of quite a long trade line, since he was too unruly for most trainers. Reigen traded for him from a trainer that was simply overwhelmed with such an unruly Pokémon. Reigen also has a hard time getting Todd to listen to him, particularly when Todd's just having a bad day, but he also doesn't push the Pokémon terribly hard. He regularly feeds him, and grooms him when Todd is willing to tolerate it, and offers niceties when Todd behaves well. Most importantly, Reigen gets Todd exercising and playing, even if it's rough - a lot of Todd's excess energy drains that way, which has caused a wary trust from the Pokémon to Reigen, who seems to understand just how difficult of a case Todd actually is.
