CHARACTER INFORMATION AND TRACKING | |||||||
A totally optional feature of Dex, this post is where you can put your character's information and backstory, their team rosters and boxed pokémon, and any updates about where they are and what's happened to them. All for funsies and your own convenience! If you want to do just the basic profile, a template has been provided below. Two codes have also been provided for pokémon - one that matches the profile code (intended for your team roster, but can be used however), and one that's a simple table - both of which allow you to give as much or as little information as you see fit. All information can be as detailed as you like, or even bullet lists. If players want special code for progress updates/thread tracking/etc, whatever you're using the post for, it'll be made. Pokémon natures are here, and characteristics are here.

GWEN!
Naoto Shirogane
Age: 16
Home Region: Johto
Trainer Class: Officer
History: TBD
Pokemon Team
Nickname: Su-Hi
Nature: Mild
Characteristic: Highly curious
Ability: Volt Absorb
Gender: Female
Naoto's starting partner was Eevee, and she proved a constant companion to Naoto throughout her Pokemon journey in Johto. It was only when Naoto had a fateful encounter with a young trainer, desiring to be a Pokemon Breeder, that she started to consider evolving Su-Hi. Laying three evolution stones in front of her partner, Naoto allowed her to decide if she'd even like to evolve and in what way. There was only a short pause before Su-Hi confidently strolled towards the Thunder Stone, evolving into Jolteon. Their bond as trainer and Pokemon has only ever grown stronger since.
Nickname: Cadet
Nature: Rash
Characteristic: Likes to fight
Ability: Intimidate
Gender: Male
Not long after completing her journey around the Johto region did Naoto decide to become a police offer. Her family's history was filled with generations of Shiroganes that have been involved with law enforcement in some capacity, and she was eager to live up to the family name. However, due to her age, she has not been given an "official" officer position just yet. Still, her sharp intellect impressed several senior officers, and so she has been called on from time to time to assist discreetly with certain cases. She was also given a young, lively Growlithe to train and raise. After all, what would an officer be without such a companion by their side?
Nickname: Holmes
Nature: Adamant
Characteristic: Alert to sounds
Ability: Stakeout
Gender: Male
Not long after arriving in Alola to search for her cousin, who had fallen out of contact mysteriously, Naoto encountered and captured a Yungoos. A rather common Pokemon found in the Alola region, yet something about the nature and behavior of this particular Yungoos intrigued Naoto. Deciding to take him along with her as she searched for clues to her cousin's whereabouts, Yungoos eventually gained enough experience to evolve to Gumshoos. His new appearance prompted Naoto to dub her newly companion with the nickname she felt most appropriate, "Holmes."
Nickname: Watson
Nature: Hardy
Characteristic: Sturdy body
Ability: Guts
Gender: Male
While Watson had been with Naoto since roughly midway through her Pokemon journey in the Johto region, the stoic Heracross had lacked a suitable nickname for a while. In fact, it was not until arriving in Alola and adding Holmes to her active party that an appropriate nickname came to Naoto. Witnessing the surprisingly close friendship that seemed to form between the Yungoos, and later Gumshoos, and Heracross, Naoto gave the Pokemon its nickname at the same time she gave Gumshoos' his own. "Watson" and Holmes prove to be apt nicknames for the two Pokemon for anyone witnessing their dynamic teamwork in duo battles.
Nickname: Regal
Nature: Calm
Characteristic: Very finicky
Ability: Sniper
Gender: Male
Regal is one of the Pokemon companions that has been with Naoto since her journey around the Johto region. The young Horsea, at the time, always seemed to carry itself with a distinguished air that carried with it through all its evolutions. Its only appropriate now that he's reached the Kingdra stage. Naoto's go-to partner for water travel, the Kingdra "Regal" has impressed many water-type trainers when spying the pair practically gliding through the waters, as if the waves themselves were parting and bowing in the face of royalty.
Nickname: Alice
Nature: Relaxed
Characteristic: Strong willed
Ability: Rivalry
Gender: Female
The Nidoqueen "Alice" joined Naoto's team after she decided to extend her Pokemon adventure beyond the Johto region and into the Kanto region. A decision not wholly uncommon to trainers from either region given their relative proximity to each other compared to the other regions. Named after a pen name for one of Naoto's favorite detective-mystery writers, the now Nidoqueen has proven a great ally to Naoto whenever she's gotten into a pinch and needed some extra muscle to help her out. Like a protective bodyguard, Alice is quick to anger when she senses that someone may be threatening her trainer's safety.
Prompto Argentum
Age: 24
Home Region: Sinnoh
Trainer Class: Sightseer (Photographer)
History: TBD
Pokemon Team
Nickname: Atsui
Nature: Lonely
Characteristic: Proud of its power
Ability: Blaze
Gender: Male
Coming from a relatively small, rustic town in the Sinnoh region, Prompto was one of the lucky children to receive his partner from a Pokemon professor who's lab was located nearby. Like the young trainer who chose him, the Chimchar, dubbed "Atsui," was a bit of a loner and slow to open up to folks. However, throughout his travels with Prompto, the Chimchar gained experience in both battles and interacting with other Pokemon. He has become fast friends with his fellow members of Prompto's team, especially Squirts, Sparks, and Choco -- the four that have been with the team the longest. Now an Infernape, Atsui still has its shy, stand-offish moments around new team members, but its now quicker to friend newer teammates. Additionally, he has a great fondness for his trainer who he's traveled with all this time, ever eager to prove the fruits of their journey in battle.
Nickname: Choco
Nature: Jolly
Characteristic: Alert to sounds
Ability: Intimidate
Gender: Female
Choco was the first Pokemon that Prompto captured on his own near the very start of his Pokemon journey across the Sinnoh region. Growing up, he would often watch the Starly, which were always plentiful around his hometown, soaring about in the sky with wonder. He did not miss the opportunity to add one to his team as soon as he was able on the route leading out of town. Choco has been with Prompto ever since, and she is as protective of him as Atsui is. The bond between the three of them is unbreakable. Like her trainer, Choco is generally good-natured and friendly which often stands in direct contrast to her demeanor in battle where her aura becomes much, much more intimidating. Like Atsui, Choco is always ready to prove how far she and her trainer have come by demonstrating her strength and their partnership in battle.
Nickname: Sparks
Nature: Hasty
Characteristic: Impetuous and silly
Ability: Pickup
Gender: Female
Sparks practically caught herself when Prompto encountered her.The young Pachirisu had been a little too curious, sticking her head into the bag carrying Prompto's food supplies. At which point, the poor little creature somehow got itself stuck. Taking pity on her Prompto, let her out and go free, feeling as though it would not be very fair to capture her in that moment. However, it seemed the kind move left an impression on the Pachirisu -- well, either that or she realized she could easily score free meals off the young trainer -- because she began showing up at his campsite every time he would break for the night. At each appearance, Prompto would laugh and pass a bowl of food over to the little Pokemon. It wasn't long before "Sparks" officially joined the team. She's never wanted for food.
Nickname: Squirts
Nature: Naive
Characteristic: Somewhat of a clown
Ability: Swift Swim
Gender: Male
Squirts joined Prompto's team soon after Sparks did. In fact, it was a day later that Prompto encountered the Buizel that would later evolve into the Floatzel on his team now. Perhaps it was because Sparks had received her own nickname the day before, or perhaps it was because Prompto wasn't exactly the most creative at coming up with Pokemon nicknames when he was younger -- but, whatever the reason, the newly added Buizel was nicknamed "Squirts." Similar to his trainer, the now Floatzel is a goofy character who often looks for opportunities to make his trainer and fellow Pokemon companions laugh with his antics. Still, when push comes to shove, he's no slouch in a battle either. His speed in the water is something that has to be seen to be believed.
Nickname: Hime
Nature: Modest
Characteristic: Very finicky
Ability: Snow Cloak
Gender: Female
The Ninetails "Hime" is the most recent addition to Prompto's team. Prompto could not resist snapping a photo of her when he first caught sight of her. She looked beautiful with the sun cascading off her, an aura of almost fairy tale quality royalty radiated off her. While not initially planning on catching her, it seemed that, at the time, the Ninetails did not appreciate the over eager photographer snapping her photo so candidly. Left with no other option, Prompto had to battle the creature to make it out unfrozen. Rather than knock the creature out, however, and then make his escape, Prompto instead decided to capture her, add her to his team, and, hopefully, she would come around to letting him take her picture more. So far, no such luck on the picture front. However, she has certainly begun to warm up to the happy-go-lucky trainer and the rest of her fellow team companions.
Nickname: Chibi
Nature: Naughty
Characteristic: Good perseverance
Ability: Sand Rush
Gender: Male
Chibi was the first new addition to Prompto's team after his arrival in the Alola region. His first stop had been Mele Mele island -- though, for no real reason really, it had just worked out that way -- and Rockruffs were fairly common there. He spotted the little Pokemon in some tall grass, seemingly suffering from some kind of injury to its leg. Perhaps in a battle with another wild Pokemon? Although initially cautious of the stranger, the little Rockruff hesitantly allowed Prompto to get close enough to treat the Pokemon's injury. The good deed endeared the Rockruff to Prompto, causing the little Pokemon to follow him along on his tour of Mele Mele. Before leaving the island, the Rockruff, affectionately named "Chibi" by Prompto for his small size, officially joined the team as Prompto figured he would otherwise just swim after him as the boat departed. Now, "Chibi" isn't so tiny in his evolved Lycanroc form, but he's just as loyal, if not moreso, to the kind trainer that stopped to take care of a small, injured Pokemon in need.
