WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF POKÉMON!
Welcome to the National Dex (or just Dex). This is a musebox-style AU psl for friends and friends of friends to play in the universe of Pokémon, making their characters into trainers, breeders, explorers, you name it. Give them pokémon of their own, explore all of the regions, get into trouble. There is currently no AC, but we ask that you obey the following: ➤ Golden Rule. Breaking this is grounds for removal - Dex is meant to be a laidback, friendly environment, and any attempts to cause drama will not be tolerated. You're all friends (and friends of friends) here, there's no reason to pick fights. This includes all the usuals - IC =/= OOC, IC Actions = IC Consequences, No Metagaming, etc. ➤ Currently, Dex is invite only. If you want to bring a friend in, that's great! You don't need permission to invite them in, and there's no player or cast caps in effect. But if there are known issues between that person and someone already in Dex, please use your head. ➤ There's no character cap at the moment for players, and no restrictions on playing more than one character from a canon (but try not to play characters that should interact or likely would). But canon characters and original characters alike are welcome, although you need to humanize them if they're not already. You can also play Pokémon characters, but otherwise they're NPCable by players. Gym leaders, Nurse Joys, Officer Jennies, what have you. See info post about powers, tech, and classes. ➤ No doubles of the same character. If they're from a different series (ie: the many interpretations of the Shinsengumi; maybe CLAMP characters, CLAMP characters are weird) it's a case-by-case, but Final Fantasy characters that have appearances in Kingdom Hearts definitely are non-exceptions. Only one instance of Cloud Strife and Squall Leonhart per Dex. No AUs either - Dex is already an AU setting. ➤ No one gets any legendary pokémon, unless it makes absolute sense, and even then you need to clear it in advance. There are no exceptions to guardian deities, due to their function in the setting. Restrictions are more lenient on mythical pokémon, although we still ask you to be reasonable and responsible about it, and no one gets an Arceus on their team. ➤ Smut is allowed, just lock it to the comm and mark it as such. This goes for other more mature subjects as well. If you want to play with the Darker and Edgier aspects of pokémon, be my guest. If you want to focus on the more light-hearted tone, also good. Seriously, just make sure you mark your posts in the event that they get Real.
